With increased DoD focus on modernization, Moog's Hypersonic Vehicle Systems (HVS) team is a fast-growing segment within our Space and Defense Group. We're leveraging our expertise in precision actuation, thrust vector control, attitude control, control electronics and software to provide a variety of complex integrated guidance, navigation and control (iGNC) system solutions in the hypersonic vehicle market. We're looking for an Associate Electronic Design Engineer interested in career growth and being part of a team committed to the development of critical next-generation hypersonic systems. To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2-3 years of design and development engineering work experience
  • Strong hands-on mindset
  • Team-oriented mindset, with the desire to contribute to a high functioning team
  • Self-motivated approach, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proficient communication skills, both in writing technical documentation and in public speaking presentations
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY (remote candidates will not be considered)
It would be great if you also had:
  • MS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Motor Control Electronics Experience
  • Power Electronics Experience
  • Hobby pursuits in electronics
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry
  • Experience with military standards (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810); RTCA/DO-254, and RTCA/DO-160 standards
  • Radiation-Hardened electronics experience
  • Familiarity with ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods, tools, and processes
  • Familiarity with embedded systems/firmware and software development
  • Current security clearance
As an Associate Electronic Design Engineer, you will:
  • Be active in the development of the control electronics at the heart of our system solutions
  • Contribute to the development of new product requirements through consulting with customers, the business development team and across engineering disciplines
  • Participate in the evolution of the conceptual and detailed design phases through verification and certification
  • Perform prototype testing, integration testing, and design verification and validation testing
  • Create detailed Verification and Validation plans and procedures for the testing of control electronics.
  • Support various aspects of technical project planning, including designs, proposals, cost estimates, schedules and technical interface meetings throughout the program lifecycle
  • Prepare, organize, and make presentations to internal and external customers in support of design reviews, technical interface meetings and business development
  • Assist in the preparation of trade studies and analyses to validate conceptual designs
  • Take part in design reviews, validating adherence to internal standards
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its leading-edge technical reputation

    Salary Range Transparency:

    Buffalo, NY $79,000.00-$106,000.00 Annually

    The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
