Marvell's tax department is looking for an Indirect Sr. Tax manager and is looking to hire a smart, creative, energetic individual who can help bring best practices to the tax department.

What You Can Expect

  • Prepare & manage monthly and quarterly indirect tax compliance, including but not limited to Sales Tax, Use Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, WA Business & Occupation Tax, Personal Property Tax, and Real Property Tax.
  • Review and/or prepare reconciliations of related indirect tax general ledger accounts
  • Oversee the credits and incentives compliance processes associated with indirect taxes.
  • Provide support for indirect tax inquiries from external partners and/or customers
  • Be a trusted advisor and able to identify new technical tax issues and process improvements to reduce risks or provide operational savings
  • Assist income tax group on state apportionment and other state tax filings as needed.
  • Prepare required work papers and technical memos related to indirect tax issues
  • Manage all indirect tax controversies including audits, notices and VDAs
  • Coordinate the maintenance of exemption/resale certificates
  • Liaise with fixed asset team to obtain and maintain all records required for property tax compliance
  • Drive continuous process improvements, focusing on automation, efficiency, and analytics
  • May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, and/or other structuring projects
  • Ad hoc projects as necessary

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business,Science, Arts or related fields and10+ years of related professionalexperience OR Master's degree and/or PhD in
    Business, Science, Arts or relatedfields with 5+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years indirect tax experience
  • Experience in public accounting firm, State Board of Equalization, and/or Multinational Corporation
  • Experience working directly with governmental agencies to resolve indirect tax issues
  • Ability to analyze, and review statutes and regulations, then make appropriate recommendations
  • Experience with Oracle G/L Systemand Vertex sales tax engine
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to deliver on tight timelines
  • Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to "roll up your sleeves"
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with all management levels
  • Able to champion and implement process improvements

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

135,990 - 203,700, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
