Position Summary:

The Bin Repair Team Lead is responsible for the coordination and direction of the day-to-day activities of their assigned team. This position provides direction and guidance with operational processes and ensures that safety, production, and quality compliance and procedures are sustained. Accountable for effective communications between management and team to maximize operations.

1. Cross train/provide coverage in Operations Supervisor's absence on the following: Taking daily attendance; Conduct bin repair new hire orientation and training; Manage outbound shipments of bins (Canadian loads/Grower Direct loads); Conduct incident reporting for injuries as well as aiding in setting up ITS Remote Rehab if needed.

2. Bin Repair lead will manage the bin repair teams to meet goals/team assignments established with Operations Supervisor. They will ensure bin repair logs and audit forms are being completed properly, help coach employees on job performance and communicate issues to Operations Supervisor. The Bin Repair lead will ensure the required bin audits are completed each week, as well as audit our own bin repair teams to ensure compliance to established standards.

3. Personally demonstrates the OSC values and safety practices. Ensures the safety of employees working on the team through adherence to plant safety requirements and programs. Coaches team members when unsafe practices/behaviors are recognized. Ensure consistent training and enforcement of bin repair/sorting techniques/methods/best practices.

4. Own and conduct heat stress policy. Own and conduct crane/hoist/sling policy. Must be able to become forklift 'train the trainer.'

5. Conduct bin repair part inventory weekly; Submit parts order as needed.

6. Enter bin repair logs and audit forms daily.

7. Ensure adherence to GMP's; Help conduct monthly GMP audits.

8. Utilize GoPro to create/establish training videos/do's and don'ts; Use training videos in training of new employees.

9. Review daily bin repair metrics with team.

10. Aid in bin yard management and weekly yard counts.

Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level:

This position requires follow-through directions issued by management in regards to production, quality and safety issues in line with management's established guidelines on priorities, methods, and procedures. Ability to work out minor performance problems with team members involved; refers problems involving more serious performance issues to manager for handling.

Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

Effective organizational, planning and leadership skills, and business acumen; and possess above average reading, writing, math and communication skills. Good interpersonal skills associated with the need to work constructively in a team environment, arrive both timely, and consistently at work; assume responsibility and work shifts as required. Proficient computer skills and ability to manually operate equipment and troubleshoot. Must be able to acquire OSC forklift certification. Must be willing to work night shifts as needed. Once adept at bin repair lead duties, will be expected to learn upgrade lead duties in order to progress to Team Lead paygrade. Will rotate with upgrade lead.
