Job Title: Construction Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, Major Gas Pipeline Projects Location: Columbus, Ohio Schedule: Hybrid (in office Tuesday-Thursday) Job Summary This role manages major gas transmission and distribution projects from planning through construction, in-service, and closeout. Responsibilities include scope development, estimating, scheduling, permitting, risk management, contractor selection, financial tracking, and stakeholder coordination. Projects are highprofile and require strong leadership, technical expertise, and adherence to safety, regulatory, and performance standards. *This position may be filled at the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level Core Responsibilities (Both Levels)
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex pipeline construction and infrastructure projects
- Establish and manage project scope, schedule, cost baselines, and change control
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety, regulatory, and construction standards
- Oversee contractor performance, field construction activities, and inspections
- Monitor and communicate project progress, capital spend, forecasts, and key milestones
- Support Engineering, New Business, Sales & Services, and Local Operations through estimating, coordination, and communication
- Build effective relationships with municipalities, regulators, land services, and internal partners
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget (targeting 5% of estimates)
- Manage invoice approvals, documentation, and project closeout activities
Additional Responsibilities - Senior Project Manager
- Lead large, highrisk, or multistakeholder projects requiring advanced oversight and coordination
- Apply advanced project integration, risk, quality, procurement, cost, and schedule management practices
- Lead and develop project teams including contractors, inspectors, and internal stakeholders
- Manage complex stakeholder dynamics, including escalations and regulatory interactions
- Apply governance, communication, and performance management practices to ensure safety, environmental, and business objectives are met
Required Qualifications - Project Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or related field
- 4-6 years of experience managing construction-related projects
- Experience working with pipeline construction contractors and managing project budgets
- Knowledge of gas system design, operations, construction practices, and emergency response
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal construction and operating codes
- Proficiency with scheduling tools, Microsoft Office, and construction/project management systems
- Valid driver's license (in state upon hire)
Additional Qualifications for Senior Project Manager Consideration
- 7-9 years of project, engineering, or technical experience
- Prior experience leading major capital or utility infrastructure projects
- Advanced proficiency with project controls, PMIS tools, scheduling, cost, and risk management systems
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules and travel up to 25% within the state
- PMP certification (required within 1 year if not already obtained)
Preferred Qualifications (All Levels)
- Utility industry experience
- Capital construction project experience
- PMP certification upon hire
- OSHA or safety leadership experience
Compensation
- Project Manager: $93,800 - $140,700
- Senior Project Manager: $110,200 - $165,300

Salary Range*: $96,600.00 - $170,300.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2026-04-03
