What You Will Do:

As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking a Electrical Project Designerto support our Buildings & Places/Justice group in our Ebensburg, PA office.

What you will be challenged to do:

The Project Designer will be responsible for supporting the design and modeling of building security, communications, and site power systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. This role involves performing security assessments, performing calculations, selecting and specifying equipment, and using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam to develop design documentation. The engineer will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct site visits, and assist in resolving design and construction issues.


In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and model building, security, and communication systems.
  • Size, coordinate, and specify electrical distribution equipment.
  • Perform project management and interact and communicate with clients.
  • Manage and work on multiple projects at once.
  • Assist in proposal and lead development.
  • Attend conferences and tradeshows.
  • Provide design support in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
  • Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure electrical design complies with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist and project manage to troubleshoot design and construction challenges.
  • Prepare documentation for permit applications and agency review.
  • Perform site visits and write field reports.
  • Calculate and analyze electrical loads.
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 8 plus years of experience with electrical design for buildings, including power distribution, security, and communication systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.


What we prefer you bring:

  • Prior experience or familiarity with the A/E/C and justice/corrections industry.
  • Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD.

Compensation:

The Salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
