JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
This position is primarily responsible for the following Accounts Receivable functions; cash application, research and
investigation of unapplied payments, processing credit memos and to balance and reconcile cash batches to computer
generated batch totals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone or email in a professional manner with a high degree of accuracy

    • Copy, fax, or e-mail invoices or statements as required
    • Processing manual credit card transactions as needed for open invoices.
    • Processing both paper check payments and Electronic Funds Transfer payments for customers daily
    • Set customer up and reset passwords for online access to Financial Hub
    • Document pertinent conversation with customers in Advance Collection Module
    • Process refund requests, as needed


  • Ensure all receipts and remittances are entered accurately into system and in a timely manner.

    • Scan checks
    • Process daily payments received from third-party payors
    • Post daily cash receipts and adjustments
    • Processing of cash receipts accurately which includes: ACH Exceptions, Lockbox, Wires, EDI, and Desktop Deposits
    • Apply cash based on Customer specific remit requirements
    • Complete cash batches as assigned in date order
    • Access bank websites daily to complete cash application




  • Perform account reconciliation regularly.

    • Reconcile daily cash receipts posted to system generated batch totals
    • Work with cross functional teams to resolve outstanding Cash Application issues
    • Process requests to correct misapplied payments
    • Analyze customer payment trends to correct prior applications as needed to mirror customer remit
      detail
    • Analyze unapplied cash batches or reports daily
    • Ensure all customer payments are entered by all month end closes and complete all cash applications
      for the month end (assuming the proper back up and remittance are available).




  • Online Payment Portal

    • Verify customers online form for accuracy
    • Create customers online account access: create username and password within 24 hours.
    • Assist customers with password rest.
    • Inactive customers' accounts




JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.


Experience



  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in account receivable or cash application.


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on cash application or account reconciliation.


Competencies, Skills & Abilities



  • Good communication skills required.
  • Good 10-key skills required
  • Excellent phone skills required


WORK CONTEXT



  • Standard office conditions. Jobholder may be required to work overtime.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay rate for this position is between $20.36 - $25.95 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
