The Senior Emerging & AI Technology Architect serves as a strategic, hands-on architect, bridging business objectives with solutions in emerging technologies and AI within the IT and electric energy sector. The candidate will assume the responsibilities of an Emerging Technologies and AI Architect, emphasizing the identification, evaluation, development, and advancement of technical opportunities for NYPA. This role entails researching, designing, and implementing advanced solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, and other emerging technologies. The goal is to leverage these advanced technologies to optimize grid operations, enhance energy efficiency, enable predictive maintenance, and support the transition to a sustainable, smart energy ecosystem. The candidate will collaborate with various business units, such as Energy Generation, Transmission, Finance, Engineering, Canals etc., to build prototypes, validate and support deploying enterprise-grade applications. Success in this role necessitates deep expertise in Responsible AI Governance and Risk Management, applying NYPA's AI governance framework for identity integration, observability, ethics, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the candidate must possess advanced knowledge of AI and GenAI design patterns and understand how to manage the full lifecycle of AI models. A comprehensive understanding of data architecture, governance and compliance, cloud computing concepts, and solution engineering practices is essential for success in this role. The candidate must be adept at mapping business capabilities and aligning them with value streams to ensure technology delivers real business outcomes. In addition, the role requires strong leadership in managing technical relationships, coordinating solution briefings, proof-of-concept efforts, and aligning designs with enterprise architecture principles. The candidate acts as a connective hub across architecture disciplines, closely working with the Enterprise Architecture Engineering (EAE) team to coordinate design reviews, enforce architecture principles, and accelerate delivery to ensure solutions are aligned with industry trends, emerging technologies, and partner ecosystems to effectively shape innovation strategies. #LI-JP1 Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
Overnight travel to the various NYPA locations within New York State. The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $160,000-$200,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
