State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Real Estate Mortgage Closer/Disburser to assist members through the final stages of their home-financing journey by coordinating all aspects of the mortgage settlement and ensuring accurate, timely funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Reviews mortgage for completeness
  • Handles member and staff inquiries about status of pending mortgage loans and about Mortgage loan programs, policies, and procedures of the Credit Union
  • Prepares all necessary loan documents prior to settlement
  • Schedules settlements on Mortgage loans
  • Handles Mortgage wires and fundings
  • Reviews files for completeness on disbursed mortgage loans in LOS
  • Transfers the mortgage from the processing system to the servicing system for booking
  • Handles all incoming communication relating to Mortgage Loan settlements
  • Completes weekly production schedule
  • Attends departmental meetings to remain current and informed on credit union Mortgage programs, Compliance and overall Credit Union activities

Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies:



  • Two years experience processing and or closing first mortgage loans required, knowledge of real estate lending
  • Associate degree required with course work in related field desired
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending laws and regulations
  • Must have experience preparing closing documents for first mortgage loans under the TRID regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient clerical skills and typing speed of 40 wpm desired
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Willingness to perform a variety of duties each day


This position requires Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration within 30 days of employment.
