THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Facility Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing administrative operations to ensure efficient use of financial, material, and staffing resources, advising the CEO on the most cost-effective decisions and budget planning. Work involves leading contract development and vendor oversight, ensuring services are delivered effectively and meet regulatory standards. You will have the opportunity to support HR processes, ensure compliance with policies and guidelines, as well as represent the hospital in the labor relations program. We will rely on you to establish goals for administrative departments that align with our mission, maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, and participate in executive leadership and decision making. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safety, quality, and operational standards through regular inspections and audits
  • Coordinating surveys and performance improvement efforts
  • Addressing deficiencies
  • Ensuring ongoing quality and risk management programs
  • Supporting staff development
  • Evaluating and monitoring training programs
  • Acting on behalf of the CEO when needed, including serving in an on-call leadership role

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of professional experience in budgeting, accounting, purchasing, human resources, or management methods work, including three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes three years of supervisory or managerial experience in budgeting, accounting, purchasing, human resources, or management methods work.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
