Microsoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Security and Sustainability (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. We are seeking a Supply Planner to join CSCP and manage supply planning for Microsoft's in-house MAIA AI accelerator. You will join the team as a key driver to deliver operational excellence with a focus on silicon demand/supply optimization, while keeping the Microsoft Cloud at the cutting edge of technology.

Responsibilities

SiliconSupply Planning

  • Point of contact to ensuresupplypriorities are defined and communicated

  • Partnerwithinternal and externalstakeholders, including senior team members, tofollow through onestablishedsupplystrategiesand capacitychanges

  • Champion internal processes that ensure the smooth flow of supply

  • Track metrics related to the operational performance of suppliers and support compliance expectations

SupplyAnalysisand Processes

  • Analyze"what-if" scenariosimpactingsupply and demand management, following through on mitigation strategies

  • Contribute to contingency plans,track global capacity targets,and support allocation processes

  • Manageforward or reversesupply plans under the guidance of senior team members

  • Optimizeprocesses for data management and create dashboards for supply-chain analysis

Lifecycle and Inventory Management

  • Engage early in the development process tocoordinatethe Supply Plan for product launches

  • Plan raw materials and transition old products to new ones, while maximizing flexibilityandcost efficiency

  • Determinethe quantity of materials needed forlast-timebuydecisions and execute buffer strategies.



Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience insilicon-relatedsupply chain


Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 8+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 6+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.


Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
