Apply now and energize your career with a true leader inglobalenergy. Senior Electrical Test Engineer Dayton, OH We're looking for a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to join our team in Dayton. In this role, you'll provide technical leadership, oversee complex testing and engineering projects, support system reliability, and help develop the next generation of testing professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technician training and development programs across substation equipment, protective relaying systems, transformers, breakers, reclosers, regulators, capacitors, batteries, RTUs, and related equipment.
- Provide hands-on training and support for testing and commissioning activities including relay testing, power factor testing, contact resistance testing, ground grid testing, DGA/oil sampling, meggering, hi-pot testing, TTR, SFRA, trip testing, and other diagnostic processes.
- Serve as a technical resource for project teams, supervisors, contractors, and other departments.
- Provide on-site oversight to ensure safe, high-quality work and compliance with company procedures and standards.
- Support storm restoration, emergency response efforts, equipment failures, outages, mobile substation installations, transformer lockouts, and troubleshooting activities.
- Promote Human Performance concepts and develop training materials, guides, and testing procedures.
- Evaluate new equipment, technologies, and industry practices to improve safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Review and analyze testing data, identify trends, evaluate equipment condition, recommend repairs or replacements, and support long-term maintenance planning.
- Support transformer factory visits, including quality control inspections and witness testing.
- Assist with employee progression testing and software preparation as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 (five) or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience in project management with a demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
- Union experience preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or recognized Subject Matter Expert status.
