https://uapb.edu/academics/safhs/department-of-agriculture/4-h-youth-development/ Summary of Job Duties:The 4-H Program Multi-County Agent works under the supervision of the Extension Specialist II-Director of 4-H Youth Programs. The Extension 4-H Multi-County Agent is a professional who works with others in the 4-H Youth Development Program to deliver the 4-H program in various counties that UAPB Extension serves, including but not limited to Jefferson, Little River, Miller, Lafayette, Howard, and Hempstead, and performs duties necessary to assist the 4-H Director in the day-to-day implementation of programs. This employee works cooperatively with all Extension faculty and staff, where applicable, and is administratively and programmatically responsible to the UAPB Director of 4-H Youth Programs. A responsible, self-directed individual is needed to carry out the duties of the Extension 4-H Multi-County Agent within the School of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Human Sciences. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A formal education equivalent to a bachelor's degree, plus one year of experience working with children/youth. Ability to successfully complete the screening requirement. A valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required. This position requires occasional night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county and out-of-state meetings. Some degree of physical activity is required to conduct programs (e.g., setting up and cleaning up from programs, handling animals/gardening equipment, carrying demonstration materials, and audio-video equipment). Must be able to exercise good judgment in the supervisor's absence; exercise courtesy and use tact when dealing with the public; and must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional staff and associates. An excellent command of spoken and written Standard English is required. Bilingualism in Spanish is preferred but not required.
