Data.FI Lesotho Digital Health Information Systems Intern

Translating Data for Implementation (Data.FI) is a global project funded by the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Global Health Security and Diplomacy (GHSD) to support digital health transformation, data-driven epidemic control, and health security. Data.FI partners with programs to accelerate and sustain access to high-quality data to expedite HIV and COVID-19 epidemic control and maintenance. By improving global, regional, national, and community/local in-depth analysis of HIV and COVID-19 epidemiologic and programmatic data, Data.FI expedites program achievements to improve client services and attain and sustain control of the epidemics. Data.FI supports host country governments to enhance existing health information systems (HIS), informing management responses to gaps in programming and sustaining impact by supporting local partner transition.

Background - As part of its capacity strengthening and
localization agenda, Palladium Data.FI Lesotho hosts university students for
industrial attachment to provide real-world exposure to digital health systems,
ICT for development, and data-driven health programs

Purpose of Position

The internship provides final-year ICT/Engineering students with:

*Practical experience in digital health systems and health informatics
*Exposure to real-world system design, data use, and interoperability
*Understanding of information security and governance in health systems
*Hands-on participation in system support, documentation, and analytics
Interns will support ongoing work on platforms such as:
*LODIIS
*eLMIS
*iHRIS
*DHIS2 integrations
*Health Information Exchange (HIE) initiatives

This position is based in Maseru, Lesotho. The fixed term of this assignment ends on 31 March 2026.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Systems Support & Documentation

a.Assist in documenting workflows, system processes, and user requirements
b.Support updating user guides, SOPs, and technical documentation
c.Participate in system testing and feedback documentation
d.Help track change requests and system issues

2.Data & Analytics Support

a.Assist in documenting workflows, system processes, and user requirements
b.Support updating user guides, SOPs, and technical documentation
c.Participate in system testing and feedback documentation
d.Help track change requests and system issues

3.Digital Health and Interoperability Exposure

a.Assist in documenting workflows, system processes, and user requirements
b.Support updating user guides, SOPs, and technical documentation
c.Participate in system testing and feedback documentation
d.Help track change requests and system issues

4.Governance & Information Security Exposure

a.Assist in documenting workflows, system processes, and user requirements
b.Support updating user guides, SOPs, and technical documentation
c.Participate in system testing and feedback documentation
d.Help track change requests and system issues

5.Stakeholder & Field Support

a.Support preparation for meetings, trainings, and workshops
b.Assist in note-taking and action tracking
c.Participate in facility visits where relevant

Required Qualifications:

*Final-year student in:

oComputer Science
oInformation Systems
oSoftware/Computer Engineering

oICT-related field

*Basic knowledge of:

oDatabases
oProgramming concepts
oData analysis

*Strong willingness to learn and adapt
*Good communication and teamwork skills
*Professional conduct and reliability

Key Deliverables:

*Internship learning logbook
*Contributions to documentation and reports
*Assigned mini-project or case study
*End-of-attachment presentation
*Supervisor evaluation report (for university submission)
