Senior Porfolio Manager

Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Portfolio Manager provides strategic direction and leadership to ensure the effective execution of projects within an EPC portfolio. This role is responsible for strengthening portfolio management and delivery processes, optimizing resource allocation, and aligning project outcomes with customer and business objectives. The position requires strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making capabilities to drive value, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The Senior Portfolio Manager will oversee key performance indicators, provide integrated solutions to complex challenges, and contribute to business planning and growth initiatives. This role plays a critical part in enhancing project execution, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the organization's overall success.

This position is located in Denver, working at the Worley office on a 3-day hybrid schedule. Not eligible for remote support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of medium to large-scale EPC projects, ensuring alignment with customer and business objectives.
  • Develop and implement portfolio management processes, tools, and KPIs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain an integrated view of customer objectives, leveraging synergies across projects to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Support the selection and prioritization of projects in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual business plans and drive strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide oversight for portfolio execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance, including cost forecasting, margin optimization, and risk management.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, best practices, and innovative solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are consistently met across all projects.

Qualifications / Skillset

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 20+ years of experience, with at least 12 years in supervisory, project management, or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing project portfolios within EPC and/or EP environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with leadership teams to resolve complex project and portfolio challenges.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction project lifecycles across industrial sectors.
  • Solid technical foundation with a mix of office and field experience, ideally from both EPC firms and operating companies.
  • Expertise in cost management, forecasting, and financial analysis for large project portfolios.
  • Experience developing and executing business and strategic plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional certification in Project or Portfolio Management (e.g., IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM).
  • Experience managing large, complex, or high-risk projects in multicultural and multinational environments.
  • Direct experience with field execution of engineering and construction projects.

Additional information for Colorado:

  • This position will be based in the Englewood/Denver, CO area.
  • Salary: $181,948 to $246,164 annually commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
