Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Develop related process flows, process specifications, technical specifications, drawings, literature, and other documentation for company's production processes and products. Maintain an organized repository for all such documents and information.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, including those of a moderately complex nature.
  • Develop and implement methods to systematically evaluate and analyze manufacturing processes/equipment issues and data from failures; create and implement recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Design and conduct testing to establish sterilization processes. Organize data from testing into cohesive reports, archive the data for future reference, and file the appropriate processes with regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA).
  • Define alternative solutions and decision criteria, both individually and collaboratively, by which to evaluate the various manufacturing alternatives.
  • Participate in (may lead) projects to achieve business, quality, and compliance objectives; define project scope, priorities, timetables, and budgets in concert with supervisor, team members, and stakeholders; develop tactical plans and prioritize to achieve project goals; drive solutions to completion.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain process engineering specifications/standards and process equipment operational parameters to ensure process stability while maximizing manufacturing process efficiencies.
  • Maintain appropriate capital budget and equipment schedules in accordance with company construction, expansion, and/or new product objectives and policies.
  • Serve as a company subject matter resource on process engineering, packaging, and equipment matters.
  • Communicate to company management information on all aspects of process engineering, packaging, equipment, construction, and other engineering matters.
  • Stay abreast of current industry engineering trends and developments for potential application in company facilities. Recommend changes in policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in company continuous improvement and reliability efforts within assigned business unit.
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.


  • Undergraduate degree in engineering (process engineering preferred) or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 1 to 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment.
  • Knowledge of process design, process optimization, and process facilitation.
  • Knowledge of project management processes, techniques, and tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems. AutoCAD and Visio experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of technology includes complexities of products, machinery, and costs.
  • Skill in planning, organization, and analysis.
  • Able to influence others through demonstrated competence and respect for data and facts.
  • Able to establish and sustain effective relationships with all stakeholders in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
  • Able to complete problem analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to travel 50% - 75% via car and air.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
