Senior Manager of Engineering, Capacity Engineering

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead our Capacity Engineering initiatives across multiple cloud environments. This role will spearhead the management and optimization of cloud resources, acting as the primary steward of our annual cloud infrastructure spend. The position involves leading a team that develops innovative solutions for capacity planning, forecasting, and management while working closely with Cloud Service Providers to shape industry standards.

IN THIS ROLE AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

* Lead and drive Capacity Engineering projects from conception through implementation

* Build and maintain strategic partnerships with major cloud service providers

* Develop and execute team strategy while managing roadmaps and deliverables

* Mentor, coach, and grow a diverse engineering team

* Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Finance, and Engineering teams

* Drive technical excellence and innovation in cloud resource management.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

* 10+ years of experience in distributed systems and cloud capacity engineering

* 5+ years of experience leading teams and first line engineering managers in cloud infrastructure platforms

* Strong track record of delivering cloud cost optimization at enterprise scale

* Extensive development experience in major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)

* Expert knowledge of distributed systems and databases

* Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is 264000 - 379500.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
