The Opportunity at Hand

The Social Strategy & Brand Stories Intern will assist the marketing team in developing compelling content to be used across social media channels. The ideal candidate will have intermediate/advanced video editing skills for digital platforms and proven understanding of current social media trends. They will also assist in the development of a content series plan including, but not limited to, identifying key members of the headwear community, conducting outreach to schedule and coordinate virtual and in-person production days and contribute to the final editing of the social assets.

Projects & Tasks

  • Assist in concepting and creation of cap-focused social media content through video capture, editing, scripting/copy and captions
  • Assist in the development of a multi-part social media content series
  • Research and develop a list of potential participants within the headwear community
  • Test, troubleshoot and present in-person and virtual content capture technology, locations and visuals
  • Schedule and lead the execution of these content capture sessions
  • Edit content to be optimized across social channels and course correct to adapt to trends and content reception
  • Uphold and abide by all commercial social media restrictions
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need to make an impact

  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems
  • Intermediate/advanced video editing skills on CapCut or similar editing program (Final Cut Pro preferred)
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization and outside the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and efficiently prioritize workday to maximize productivity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, and positive person who adapts to change and with urgency and persistence
  • The ability to be innovative and creative when handling difficult business challenges


Education and Experience

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program within Marketing, Communication and Business Administration or a related field
  • Social media: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Instagram Reels and TikTok Videos

This role is 100% in-person and requires on-site attendance five days a week at our Headquarters building located in downtown Buffalo. The hourly rate for this posted position is $17/hr. and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
