Summer 2026 Internship Snapshot

  • The Internship Program is a full-time (40 hours) opportunity that runs May 20 through August 14

The Opportunity at Hand

This role offers a structured yet fastpaced introduction to New Era's financial processes, spanning travel and expense management, treasury initiatives, and accounts payable support. Interns will collaborate with multiple departments, engage with industryleading tools, and contribute to meaningful improvements across the organization.

Projects & Tasks

  • Learn about New Era T&E policy, exposure to Concur travel & expense system, SAP ERP system, ability to navigate and utilize NE SharePoint resource site
  • Participate in onboarding/orientation regarding Concur & AMEX credit card requests with new hires & existing employees
  • Review PowerPoint decks and recommend changes, updates and edits to existing materials
  • Collaborate with Manager of T&E Systems, members of HR, Treasury, Procurement, North America Finance & various Departments who have T&E needs
  • Create "how-to' recordings to support end-users who experience common T&E obstacles
  • Research ways to utilize AI to enhance employee expense experience
  • Network with existing and potential travel partners in the area to cultivate key relationships in the travel industry
  • Contribute to ongoing treasury initiatives, including In-House bank efforts, process enhancements, and standardization projects that improve operational efficiency
  • Support the continued expansion of Kyriba capabilities by assisting with new module rollouts, data integrations, and enhancements to reporting and analytics
  • Participate in cross-functional project discussions to provide input from a treasury perspective and help drive successful implementation
  • Support the Treasury team in evaluating and enhancing the company's inhouse bank structure by analyzing intercompany cash flows, documenting current processes, and identifying efficiency opportunities to streamline liquidity management
  • Assist in developing standardized reporting and analytics for the inhouse bank by creating dashboards or models that improve visibility into cash flow positions
  • Assist with vendor statement reconciliations by comparing vendor records to internal AP data, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating resolution with the AP team
  • Support AP general ledger reconciliation activities, including reviewing open items, clearing matched transactions, and helping ensure accurate monthend reporting
  • Other projects as assigned

What you will need to make an impact

  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems as needed
  • Skilled at analyzing complex data sets to identify trends and support data driven decisions
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email and in person
  • Strong public speaking, group presentation, interpersonal and persuasion skills required
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances by being flexible and execute accordingly
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions, strong problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive person who manages change with urgency and persistence
  • Experience utilizing AI tools (i.e. Copilot) is a plus
  • Quick learner who can assimilate systems, processes and procedures quickly

Education and Experience

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program within Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field

This role is 100% in-person and requires on-site attendance five days a week at our Headquarters building located in downtown Buffalo. The hourly rate for this posted position is $17/hr. and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
