Position Summary:

MaineHealth Medical Group is seeking an experienced ambulatory medical practice leader to serve as the Senior Director - Practice Operations, Lincoln & Mid Coast. This individual, working in a dyad relationship with the Senior Medical Director, is responsible for providing leadership and oversight in planning, guiding and coordinating practice operations for the MaineHealth Medical Group at Lincoln Hospital and Mid Coast Hospital. As a member of the senior leadership team, this position will be a significant contributor to strategic planning and business development efforts and will be responsible for the successful implementation of these plans.

Reporting to the Vice President of Ambulatory Operations for the Coastal Region of the MaineHealth Medical Group, the Senior Director of Practice Operations leads strategic initiatives in collaboration with medical and administrative leaders across the MaineHealth Medical Group and within the Coastal Region. This role oversees business and strategic plans for hospital and practice operations, ensuring financial performance, quality standards, and operational efficiency. The Senior Director supervises practice leaders, fosters professional development, and partners with the Senior Medical Director in a dyad leadership model. Responsibilities include budget planning, developing & implementing strategy, financial reviews, performance optimization, and recruitment in order to improve patient experience, access, quality & safety, team engagement, and financial performance. The role also supports facility improvements, risk mitigation, and represents the organization in public and professional forums, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Five years progressive and relevant healthcare management experience. Experience as a member of a senior leadership team may be required. Extensive physician hospital practice integration and applicable program development experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Experience with Rural Health Clinic regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Patient Centered Medical Home and Patient Centered Specialty Practice designation. Travel between sites may be required.
