Summary
At DSV Road Transport, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and leading warehouse personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of receiving, storage, and shipping activities. This role supports operational excellence, productivity, and customer satisfaction by coordinating staffing, training, workflow, and equipment readiness. Working under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, Branch and Regional leadership, the Warehouse Supervisor ensures adherence to company procedures, service requirements, and safety standards while maintaining an effective and well-coordinated shipping and receiving operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead warehouse personnel, including scheduling, training, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and daily work assignments to ensure adequate staffing and productivity.
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring freight is handled safely, accurately, and in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by enforcing safety standards, supporting safety programs, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and applicable local and state regulations.
- Ensure warehouse personnel have safe and functional equipment and coordinate repairs or maintenance as needed to support efficient operations.
- Monitor operational performance and KPIs (e.g., on-time shipping, productivity, inventory accuracy, and damage rates), identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to maintain service levels.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and drive process consistency across shifts to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Partner with transportation, operations, customer service, and other internal teams to support seamless freight movement and resolve operational or customer service issues; serve as a point of contact for warehouse-related escalations.
- Support inventory audits, optimize warehouse layout and space utilization, and assist with labor planning to meet volume and service demands.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities is preferred.
- High School Diploma required
- Must have forklift experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in customer service and logistics (will consider an equivalent combination of education and/or experience).
- Material Handling Certification preferred
- Dangerous Goods Qualification preferred
- Forklift Operation and Certification preferred
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The Warehouse Supervisor is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the warehouse facility and occasionally sit while performing administrative tasks. The role requires frequent use of hands to handle, reach, grasp, and operate equipment or computer systems, as well as the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs or ladders as needed. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds and may be required to push or pull palletized freight with appropriate equipment. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The position may also require operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
Work Environment
This position operates in a warehouse and distribution environment with a combination of office and floor responsibilities. The employee will regularly be exposed to moving mechanical parts, material handling equipment, and varying noise levels that may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, or high-visibility vests. The facility may experience fluctuating temperatures depending on weather conditions and operational needs, including exposure to heat, cold, and dust. The role requires frequent interaction with warehouse personnel, drivers, customers, and internal departments in a fast-paced, time-sensitive setting. The Warehouse Supervisor is expected to be present on the warehouse floor to monitor operations, ensure safety compliance, and support employees as operational demands require.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $62,000 - $78,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
