TA Instruments is hiring a Production Engineering Technician that will have the opportunity to support our Thermal Instrument manufacturing, testing, and continuous improvement programs. In this position you will work independly and/or closely with Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve problems, implement product or process changes, and drive documentation practices to ensure product quality standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provides first line support to the manufacturing production floor for Thermal Analysis products, focusing on Simultaneous Thermal Analizer (SDT) & Thermomechanical Analizer (TMA).
  • Provides guidance to Manufacturing Technicians and Assemblers by assisting, analyzing & troubleshooting of routine & non-routine production problems.
  • Processes and reviews internal quality reports (Trackwise Quality Records) with goal of problem resolution and minimization of reoccurrence. Based on the investigation conclusions properly disposition existing and/or in-process material.
  • Investigates and responds to external product complaints; analyzes complaint data to understand trends and problem frequencies for prioritization of longer-term solutions.
  • Conducts or collaborates with others to conduct tests and failure analysis.
  • Works closely with Manufacturing Engineers in proving out cost reductions by evaluating and testing engineering changes, reviewing material alternatives, etc.
  • Reviews materials on hand and makes recommendations for disposition of existing inventory.
  • Follows changes through the manufacturing process to ensure that changes are properly documented (ECR Process), and that procedures and checklists are properly updated or created.
  • Interfaces with vendors on material design/quality issues, conducts 1st article inspections as needed.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment including cross-training accross multiple product lines.


Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate's degree at an accredited post-secondary school in electronics, engineering, engineering technology, or closely related technical field experience, or equivalent combination of education or instrumentational testing experience.
* 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of TA product lines is preferred.
* Knowledge of PC-based instrument control and data analysis.
* Ability to think critically and resolve issues related to routine & non-routine problems.
* Must be able to work independently and in team environment.
* Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring drawings & schematics.
