Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a Quality Engineer II based in Lexington, KY. The Quality Engineer II is responsible for playing a critical role in ensuring product and process quality within the manufacturing environment by leading investigations, developing inspection and testing protocols, and driving continuous improvement projects. HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $85,000 - $95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) What you will do
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities for complex quality issues, using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve inspection and testing procedures to ensure product and process compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, drive improvement recommendations, and monitor effectiveness of implemented solutions
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component quality, addressing issues and supporting corrective actions as needed
What we require
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering role
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) or an equivalent technical degree
- Must be available to travel a few times per year to Indy (approx. 6)
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, or similar quality software)
What we prefer
- Master's degree in engineering or a related field
- ASQ CQE certification or Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience with supplier quality management and auditing
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, or other relevant quality management systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
