We are looking for an Equipment Engineer to join the team in Austin, Texas.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Manage and support special projects involving automation system improvements (hardware & software).
  • Developing and implementing efficiency improvements for Automated Equipment, Processes, Cost, Reliability, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support/lead small-scale improvements, upgrades, and software/hardware retrofits for end-of-life parts
  • Train and certify AMHS technicians in the diagnosis and repair of all automated storage systems and overhead transport systems.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, equipment engineering, and IT for system integration.
  • Respond immediately to calls for escalated issues on the Automated Material Handling System.
  • Verify spare parts inventory is functional, make necessary adjustments to assure spare parts are usable, manage the inventory to ensure all needed parts are available.
  • Monitor, Support/Assist & Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Tasks.
  • Perform incident/root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for system troubleshooting, upgrades, and spare part strategies.
  • Develop/maintain dashboards and analytics (Tableau/CFML/SQL/etc.) to support data-driven decisions.
  • Contribute to technical specifications for new automation concepts and modernization projects.
  • Document technical topics, maintenance procedures, and change activities.
  • Developing BKM (Best Known Methods) procedures to be used by technicians on shift, work with technicians on extended downtime tools to resolve issues.



Minimum Qualifications


One or Multiple of the following:



  • BS in Engineering of Related Field.
  • Two or more years of experience in Industrial Facilities Maintenance.
  • High sense of ownership and reliability in production environments.


  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication.


  • Ability to use Problem Solving Principles to Identify and Implement Root Cause Fixes.


  • Highly Motivated Individual who can Achieve Positive Results in a Team Atmosphere.


  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities and environmental conditions.


  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.



Preferred Qualifications



  • MS in Engineering of Related Field.


  • Experience with Automation Controls Systems.


  • A relevant vocational training (3+ years) and extensive subject-specific additional Qualification.


  • Bachelor or Master in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or Related Field.


  • Proven Large-scale Project Management Experience.
  • Knowledge in High Volume Semiconductor Manufacturing and Industrial Control Systems.



Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and climb ladder. Ability to work onsite a minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Variety of standing, sitting & data entry.
  • Wear complete fab attire for full shift.
  • Meet all safety and cleanroom requirements.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment, and work with; electrical hazards.
