Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for an experienced and strategic Global Trade Import Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen our global import and customs compliance program. You will be a primary subject matter expert on global import regulations and work with regional and functional partners to ensure compliance across the organization. You will provide regulatory guidance, drives program governance, supports global risk management, and enables efficient and compliant crossborder operations.

You will report to our General Counsel, Global Trade Compliance.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Be a subject matter expert on global customs and import regulations, including tariff classification, valuation, country of origin rules, duty programs, and import documentation requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, assess business impact and compliance risk, and advise leadership on required actions and implementation strategies.
  • Support responses to inquiries from global customs authorities.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance corporate import compliance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support internal compliance audits, identify risk areas, and work with partners to implement corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, and monitoring of the global import compliance program.
  • Provide guidance on customs brokerage, clearance activities, postentry corrections, and resolution of import-related issues.
  • Support our participation in global customs programs, including CTPAT, AEO, PIP, and other special trade programs (e.g., bonded warehouses, free trade zones).
  • Partner with regional trade compliance managers and designated import contacts to promote application of regulatory requirements worldwide.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, supply chain, legal, and finance teams to promote awareness of import requirements and ensure understanding of our goals.
  • Influence decisionmaking across global, crossfunctional teams without direct authority.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in global trade compliance in a multinational corporation.
  • U.S. Customs Broker license.
  • Demonstrated expertise in customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation principles, country of origin determination, Incoterms, and import documentation.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and auditing corporate import compliance programs.
  • Experience managing relationships with customs brokers, government authorities, and trade agencies.
  • Hands-on experience with customs programs such as CTPAT, AEO, PIP, free trade zones, or bonded warehouses.
  • Experience with trade compliance systems such as SAP GTS, IFS, or equivalent solutions.
  • Relationship management within a global matrixed environment.
  • Balance global process consistency with local regulatory and operational needs.

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $103,680 - $155,520 with an annual target bonus of 8% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
