We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Manager (External Relations & Strategic Initiatives) for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. Reporting to the Director of External Relations and Strategic Initiatives, the Manager (External Relations & Strategic Initiatives) oversees operational logistics and manages major schoolwide events for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (
SEBS) and the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (
NJAES). The Manager (External Relations & Strategic Initiatives) collaborates closely with the Director of External Relations and Strategic Initiatives, the Office of Public Outreach and Communications, and the Office of Academic Programs to develop and manage
SEBS/
NJAES statewide projects, as well as strategic initiatives, and ensure alignment with the
SEBS mission and to support research- and innovation-driven educational opportunities for the Rutgers community.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Oversees event processes for Board of Managers meetings, Convocation, and strategic initiative-related events.
- Performs venue selection, contract review, vendor coordination, and management of funding allocations.
- Ensures that all event proposals and resource requests are fully reviewed, documented, and approved prior to submission to school leadership.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field and/or related experience that demonstrates knowledge of coordination, organization and operations and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
