The Commodity Value Optimization Manager job responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Manage Full Value Optimization responsibilities for all Direct Material Commodity areas within Serial Life
  • Coordination responsibility for any cost impact as a result of Purchasing Performance or Powertrain specific reduction or over-recovery
  • Ownership of all supplier value optimization across full NA scope
  • Close coordination with ongoing Program actions to drive efficiencies and optimization of Serial Life production
  • Advanced understanding of supplier input into cost reduction activities
  • Working knowledge of program critical parameters into supplier selection process and management

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field from an AACSB accredited program
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in purchasing or a related field
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong regional and global relationships
  • Must be well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict, and resourceful when managing complex assignments
  • Must be comfortable and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Results oriented and ability to lead cross-functional and global teams in issue resolution
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
  • Strong communication skills required; must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management
  • Customer focus and Strong knowledge of business processes across group purchasing
  • Ability to lead Program Buyers


Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA
  • Program Management Certification
