Job Announcement

This position provides advanced support for countywide endpoint management, patch management, and systems engineering operations across on-premises and multi-cloud environments.

Under the general supervision of the Senior Infrastructure Program Manager, this Tier III role is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and operational support of enterprise systems management platforms, including Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and related endpoint and server management technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support enterprise patching, compliance monitoring, and configuration management for Windows servers and endpoints hosted on-premises and in public cloud platforms.
  • Coordinate patching activities, deploy desired state configurations, validate compliance, and monitor system health and performance using enterprise monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security Office (ISO) to support vulnerability remediation, compliance reporting, and enforcement of security controls.
  • Work closely with Network and Application teams to ensure patching and configuration changes do not impact system availability or business applications.
  • Provide advanced Tier III troubleshooting and incident resolution for complex system issues, including root cause analysis and change management support.
  • Evaluate tools, processes, and emerging technologies-such as AI-assisted analytics, automation, and predictive monitoring-to improve patching efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance system reliability.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Support disaster recovery and high-availability requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new systems management technologies.
  • Participate in after-hours or emergency support activities and provide onsite support at county facilities as needed.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, or closely related field, plus two years' systems programming experience in a complex information systems environment.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive hands-on experience administering Microsoft SCCM / MECM in a large enterprise or government environment.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise patching and compliance for Windows servers and endpoints across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience monitoring system performance, availability, and compliance using enterprise monitoring, analytics, or observability tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with Information Security, Network, and Application teams to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable system operations.
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or similar) and integrating systems management processes across hybrid platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted operations, automation, or analytics tools used to enhance monitoring, patching, or incident response workflows.
  • Strong experience with change management, documentation, and operational governance in regulated environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is equally performed in the field as well as in a normal office environment. Lifting (up to 50lbs) may be required. Ladder climbing may be required. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
