Position Summary:


MannKind is actively seeking a dynamic Manager, Accounts Payable to join our team, reporting directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller. This pivotal role involves certain month-end close responsibilities, including preparing and reviewing month-end close entries for company-wide accrued expenses in accordance with US GAAP and actively participating in the full cycle of processing accounts payable. Direct oversight of Accounts Payable, with a primary focus on implementing process improvements to ensure timely and accurate payments.


Principal Responsibilities:


  • Lead and/or participate in the month-end closing process for accounts payable and related accrued expenses (AP, service, invoice & estimate accruals).
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Develop new accounts payable processes or enhance existing processes.
  • Lead and manage the accounts payable team, offering guidance, training, and support to ensure high-performance levels.
  • Actively participate in the timely and accurate processing of invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, documentation, and payment.
  • Oversee credit card transactions for T&E, purchase cards & vendor cards (Concur, AMEX).
  • Utilize ERP accounts payable (purchasing) module and payables automation software including OCR.
  • Investigate accounts payable issues as needed.
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors and colleagues.
  • Possess and continue to develop knowledge of tax and accounting laws and standards.
  • Engage in general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations and related research.
  • Work in a SOX control environment and represent the Accounting team with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting at quarter- and year-end.

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable or account experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and AP best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferably Great Plains or Microsoft Dynamics.




Pay Range: $116,000 - $174,000 per year
