ACCOUNTING ADVISOR

HYBRID OPPORTUNITY

LOCATION : ATLANTA GA

THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE YOU TO BE ONSITE 2-3 DAYS A WEEK IN GREATER ATLANTA METRO AREA

The Role:

Responsible for financial accounting and reporting activities, assisting with complex accounting assignments and ensuring conformity with IFRS. Supports strong internal controls, process improvement, analysis and reporting of financial information.

Role Responsibilities:



  • Assists with complex accounting assignments including M&A activities, implementation of new IFRS standards and consolidation issues.
  • Prepares cash flow forecasts and analysis
  • Coordinates with ENGIE Impact groups including Treasury, FP&A and Accounting to gather financial information and manages the preparation of the monthly reporting package.
  • Supports integration of financial reviews with ENGIE Impact's international affiliates
  • Supports external audit requests and manages audit issues
  • Responsible for accuracy of general ledger activity related to ENGIE Impact's Treasury operations; performs monthly account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Reconciles assigned accounts monthly and prepares schedules for each by the scheduled date and /or reviews schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares and reviews/ posts journal entries into financial system as needed. Ensures appropriate documentation is attached for these entries.
  • Reviews journals and source documents for accuracy.
  • Works to ensure all journal entries and defined reconciliations are complete for month end reporting.
  • Maintains relationship with Financial Planning and Analysis partners.
  • Advises management of reasons for any unusual trends, forecast/budget variances, difficulties obtaining information or other pending issues.
  • Continuously assesses internal systems and controls and recommends changes that would allow greater efficiency in monthly processing.
  • Prepares a variety of other financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Prepares updates and maintains policies and procedures.
  • Cross-trains for backup on designated duties of team.
  • May supervise up to three (3) staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:





    • Bachelor's Degree preferred/required in one of the following fields; in accounting or finance
    • CPA preferred

      • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in accounting practices including working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
      • Minimum 7+ years relevant experience in finance or accounting preferred/required
      • Experience in the energy services industry
      • Experience with SMART and Solomon a plus
      • May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements






Skills and Abilities:





    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Familiarity with systems; Salesforce, ADP, and other internal transversal process systems
    • Strong accounting, financial and tax reporting skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret complex documents as well as standard procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, and professional journals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with employees of company.
    • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret and understand financial statements.
    • Independent worker with good decision making skills, which includes knowing when to seek assistance.
    • Strong communication, analytical and organization skills.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time.
    • Experience with establishing and maintaining effective work relationships.
    • Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
    • Possess the ability to self-motivate and take initiative with minimal supervision.
    • Must be organized, detail oriented and able to efficiently function under pressure.
    • Ability to produce detailed, accurate work within limited timeframes.
    • Highly collaborative work style, with demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to tactfully deal with various personalities throughout the company and deal effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
    • Must be proficient in utilizing computer programs for processing data and writing reports. Required program applications include: Microsoft Outlook (intermediate level), Microsoft Excel (intermediate level), and Microsoft Word (intermediate level).

Work Environment:



  • Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week

  • Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
  • Traveling off-site to employee and client locations globally, events and vendor meetings is required
  • Occasional international business trips may be necessary, and a valid passport is essential


Required Physical Abilities:



  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and by video call
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
  • Ability to lift and carry a stack of forms and documents weighing up to 15 pounds
  • The ability to alternate between sitting and standing is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and/or lunch period.
  • Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard. Traditional Keyboard refers to a panel of keys used as the primary input device on a computer, typographic machine or 10-Key numeric keypad.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms) in multiple forms; in person speech; telephone, other remote speech


Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.

At ENGIE Impact, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining pay. Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity. All offers will be in compliance with all local, state, and federal minimum wage requirements.

The target pay range for this position is : $71,400-$120,000

In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off, paid holidays, and annual bonus.
