2026 Summer Intern - Site Strategy & Culture

Department Summary

We are looking for a high-energy, organized, and empathetic Summer Intern to join the Site Strategy Office. In this role, you won't just be "helping out"; you will be a force multiplier. You'll act as the tactical engine behind our most visible site initiatives, ensuring that as our technology evolves, our people and culture stay right there with it.

This internship position is located in Oceanside, on-site.

The Opportunity

1. Site-Wide Change Management (The People Side of Tech)

  • Onboarding & Workflows: Design and develop modern onboarding materials and training workflows tailored to the OSUT transition and broader organizational shifts.

  • Operational Excellence: Centralize engagement workflows to allow leadership to focus on high-level strategy while you ensure the "boots on the ground" experience remains top-notch.

2. Long-term Community Impact

  • Sustainable Volunteering: Design and implement a formal recruiting process for site-wide volunteering to move from "one-off" events to a sustainable, year-round engagement model.

  • Giving Frameworks: Collaborate with DNA (Diversity Network Association) teams to refine community giving frameworks and strengthen our local impact in the Oceanside area.

3. Strategic Site Operations

  • Frontline Leadership Symposium: Provide operational and logistical support for this marquee event, ensuring our frontline leaders have the tools they need to succeed.

  • Site Tours: Assist in the revamp and execution of site tours that showcase our new technology and evolving culture to internal and external stakeholders.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree.

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must have attained a Master's Degree.

Required Majors:

  • STEM major with coursework in Biomanufacturing,
    Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or similar.

Required Skills:

  • A Culture Catalyst: You believe that organizational change only works when people feel heard and supported.

  • A Strategic Doer: You can pivot from high-level brainstorming with the Inclusion & Belonging Manager to the "nitty-gritty" of building a training workflow.

  • An Effective Communicator: You can distill complex changes (like new manufacturing tech) into clear, engaging content for a diverse workforce.

  • Status: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Business, Org Development, Communications, HR, or related fields preferred).

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $45.00-$50.00 per hour.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
