We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic marketer to join our marketing team in the Southeast U.S. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving proposal development to support our growth in the power, waste, and industrial sectors. Collaborating closely with the business development leaders and technical teams, you will develop persuasive proposal documents and interview materials, showcasing our engineering capabilities and experience with impactful messaging. You will also lead client development plans that drive market expansion and revenue growth.

The ideal candidate is someone who embodies the qualities of ownership, professionalism, leadership, responsiveness, adaptability, a passion for continuous improvement, and deep appreciation for teamwork.In the Proposal Manager role, we'll count on you to:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the market trends and drivers impacting our clients.
  • Develop and implement client plans, including long-term strategies to capture market share.
  • Engage the appropriate marketing services resources in pursuit teams.
  • Help engage the appropriate project management and technical talent in pursuit teams.
  • Lead pursuit teams in creating and implementing effective win strategies for key pursuits (capture planning).
  • Facilitate go/no-go decision process in accordance with HDR's Matrix of Authority.
  • Drive key pursuit teams to develop persuasive proposal and interview materials.
  • Develop and manage proposal schedules and confirm compliance for key pursuits.
  • Lead quality reviews of proposal and interview materials.
  • Coach interview teams to be effective at delivering key messages during interview presentations.
  • Recognize and celebrate regional/sector pursuit successes and milestones.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of branded materials used for client visits, conferences, and recruiting activities.
  • Support the development of annual and long-term strategic plans within established company direction and goals, including creating growth initiatives and prioritizing strategic investments.
  • Plan and fulfill conference sponsorship benefits, as needed.
  • Actively participate in professional associations to elevate HDR's brand in target markets.
  • Partner with communications team to develop content marketing campaigns to strengthen our brand, increase our visibility, and showcase our thought leaders.
  • Develop engaging internal communications content (announcements, presentations, videos, webinars)
  • Train and mentor employees on business development and marketing best practices.
  • Arrange for professional photography on projects.
  • Support management of business development and marketing budgets.
  • Manage client relationship management and financial systems to inform reporting metrics and dashboards.
  • Maintain accurate regional and sector project and resume data in business development systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services
  • Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
  • Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign
