Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Workday Integration & Development SME for a hybrid 3-month contract-to-hire position with a leading client in Columbus, OH.

Compensation: $80.00 - $100.00 per hour, W2.


Description:

Our client is making accelerated, enterprise-level investments in Workday driven by acquisitions, platform expansion, and growing HR technology demand. As a result, the HR Technology team is expanding its senior technical bench to reduce backlog and accelerate delivery across critical Workday initiatives.

This is a hands-on technical delivery role - not advisory, not configuration-only, and not low-code focused. We are seeking seasoned Workday technologists who can immediately design, build, troubleshoot, and optimize complex integrations and applications at scale. These individuals are expected to contribute on day one and elevate the team through execution and technical leadership

As a Senior Workday Integration & Development SME, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex Workday technical solutions across integrations, Extend applications, and reporting.

Technical Delivery & Integration

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and support complex Workday integrations using Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core Connectors, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).

  • Develop and maintain integrations with external systems and third-party vendors, including error handling, monitoring, and performance optimization.

  • Build custom applications and orchestrations using Workday Extend, supporting enterprise workflows and system interactions.

  • Implement sophisticated data transformation logic using XML, JSON, XSLT, and calculated fields.

Reporting & Data Outputs

  • Design and deliver advanced reports and document outputs using BIRT, Report Designer, and RaaS, with strong attention to layout, usability, and data accuracy.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable technical solutions.

Platform & Functional Expertise

  • Apply deep understanding of Workday HCM (Core HCM and adjacent domains) to support integration and application design.

  • Leverage knowledge of Workday security, business process framework, and data models to ensure secure and compliant solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, testing, and production environments.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Document technical designs, data mappings, workflows, and test strategies.

  • Mentor and support junior developers, raising overall team capability.

  • Collaborate closely with Developers, BSAs, QA, HR partners, and senior leadership in a highly visible environment.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of recent, hands-on Workday integration development experience, including Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, and Core Connectors.

  • Proven experience building solutions with Workday Extend.

  • Strong expertise in BIRT reporting and advanced Workday reporting tools.

  • Deep technical proficiency with SOAP/REST web services and XML/JSON/XSLT data transformation.

  • Solid understanding of Workday HCM processes and data structures.

  • Experience owning the full software lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, deploy, and support.

  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-volume enterprise environments.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday certifications (Integrations, Extend, or related tracks).

  • Experience supporting integrations across multiple Workday domains (HCM, Payroll, Finance).

  • Familiarity with Workday tools such as Paradox, HireScore, PCON, or Workday Assistant (AI).

  • Experience in large, complex enterprise integration environments.
