Job Overview

The Aftermarket Data Science Intern is responsible for a range of support activities for the Aftermarket Operations department. Aftermarket Operations drives strategy, system and process alignment across business units. Activities include data analytics to identify efficiency, improvement and development of CRM (Salesforce) tools, reports and capabilities. Software platforms include Salesforce, Power BI and Palantir as well as other in-house systems.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Looks for insights, emerging issues and trends within the Salesforce data coming from dealerships and distributors of Komatsu equipment. Uploads information into Palantir to provides accurate, meaningful and easy to understand information to stakeholders (typically Quality, Engineering and Product support departments) in the different Business Units.
  • Uses reporting, analytics and AI tools to capture and share knowledge from everyday service functions including Salesforce sources, service documentation, maintenance manuals and other sources.
  • Audits Salesforce records for missing or poor data with the purpose of improving data quality.
  • Provides output that is accessible and useful to stakeholders throughout organization.
  • Work closely with Product support to understand what kind of information the users need
  • Supports system integration between SAP Palantir and Salesforce
  • Collaborates with a Salesforce administration team to make improvements
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and implementation of best practices for global analytics development processes.
  • Support stakeholders (Product Management, Engineering teams, Quality teams etc.) with application of big data analytics to existing business processes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or similar
  • Sophomore of Junior level students in good academic standing
  • Statistics knowledge or coursework preferred
  • Experience/knowledge of supply chain analytics and business intelligence services a plus
  • Previous experience using CRM (Salesforce, Microsoft dynamics) and ERP systems (SAP) highly preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and explore innovative solutions to problems.
  • Proficient in at least one data science-oriented programming language (e.g., Python preferred, SQL).
  • Understanding of AI tools and concepts for business solutions
  • Excellent communication skills.
