Director of ERP and IT Operations

Position Overview:

We are seeking a senior-level technology leader to serve as an Operations Director of IT for our client in Tampa.

This role owns the ERP platform and its ecosystem while also providing leadership across IT Operations including MSP oversight, networking, security, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications supporting approximately 450 employees across Georgia and Florida.

Our ERP and enterprise systems are hosted in Microsoft Azure, with a planned transition to SaaS-based Business Central, providing a strong foundation for cloud-first architecture and modernization.

This position is intended as a strategic leadership role with a clear succession path to VP of Technology. Significant onsite presence is expected, particularly in the first year, to build executive relationships, understand operations, and establish platform credibility.

Must-Haves:
  • 8-12+ years in ERP and enterprise IT leadership roles
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central
  • Experience leading ERP migrations and SaaS transitions
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • ERP architecture and integrations
    • Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure)
    • MSP operating models
    • Multi-site enterprise operations
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Power Platform and automation leadership experience
  • Experience supporting mobile and field service workforces
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments

  • ERP platform becomes a strategic enabler for branch and service operations
  • MSP is well-governed, accountable, and aligned with business priorities
  • Cloud and security posture supports growth and compliance
  • IT evolves from reactive support to strategic leadership
  • Organization has a clear internal successor to the VP of Technology
Responsibilities:

Core ERP Responsibilities (Primary Platform Ownership)
  • Serve as Product Owner and platform owner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Own ERP architecture, integrations, security model, and data governance
  • Lead ERP roadmap, modernization strategy, and long-term platform planning
  • Govern implementation partners, contracts, delivery quality, and outcomes
  • Drive adoption of Power Platform, reporting, and automation across operations
IT Operations & Enterprise Leadership Responsibilities

MSP & Vendor Governance

  • Serve as technical owner and escalation point for the Managed Service Provider
  • Define service levels, operational metrics, and accountability models
  • Coordinate infrastructure, security, and platform projects across vendors

Cloud & Infrastructure Oversight
  • Provide technical oversight for enterprise systems hosted in Microsoft Azure
  • Partner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure availability, performance, identity integration, and data protection
  • Support architecture decisions related to SaaS adoption and cloud-native integrations
Network & Multi-Site Operations
  • Oversee LAN/WAN and branch connectivity across Georgia and Florida locations
  • Ensure reliable connectivity for branch sites and mobile field technicians
  • Partner with SD-WAN and network providers to maintain uptime and performance
Security, Compliance & Risk
  • Partner with leadership and MSP/security vendors to:
    • Enforce identity and access controls
    • Support MFA, endpoint protection, and data protection
    • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident response

Enterprise Applications & Endpoints
  • Oversee Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and line-of-business applications
  • Ensure stable workstation, mobile, and technician device environments
Leadership & Succession Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor to executive leadership
  • Build strong relationships with operations, finance, sales, and field service leadership
  • Mentor technical staff and reduce dependency on external providers
  • Participate in strategic planning and long-range technology road-mapping
  • Prepare to assume broader technology leadership responsibilities over time

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
