TEKsystems has a client is looking for a Field Technician in the Lansing area to help them with troubleshooting and deploying technology on their job sites. This person will be in-office 5 days a week unless they are traveling to job sites. This is a contract to hire role with the target of bringing on full-time after 6 months. The Field Technician provides hands-on technical support for job sites, ensuring teams have reliable access to the technology they need. This role bridges office IT systems with active construction environments through on-site setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance. * Field Technology Setup & Support * Configure and maintain job site trailers, networking equipment, WiFi, and printers. * Deploy and support field hardware such as iPads, laptops, and meeting room devices. * Service Desk & Troubleshooting * Manage and respond to IT support tickets, prioritizing field issues. * Provide Tier 1 support for hardware, software, and connectivity problems. * Document all work in the ticketing system. * OnSite Engagement * Visit job sites regularly to perform preventative maintenance. * Serve as the primary IT contact for project teams and support infrastructure needs. * Asset Management * Track and manage technology equipment and inventory across projects. Qualifications * Education: Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. * Experience: 2+ years in IT support; construction/AEC industry experience is a plus. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
