Position Purpose: The Quality Control (QC) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness of all functions across Mortgage Operations, Consumer Lending, Loan Servicing, and Commercial Loan Operations. This role not only performs and validates QC reviews but also drives continuous improvement by identifying operational gaps, recommending corrective actions, and uncovering opportunities to integrate automation and emerging technologies. Serving as a key partner to business line leaders, Compliance, and Risk, this position helps strengthen internal controls, enhance process efficiency, and support a consistent, high quality customer and operational experience across all Loan Operations functions. Description of Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Conduct comprehensive QC reviews across Mortgage Operations, Consumer Lending, Loan Servicing, and Commercial Loan Operations-including manual review activities and validation of BOT generated results to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper technology performance.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously refine QC checklists, ensuring all review procedures are aligned with regulatory expectations, internal policies, and evolving industry standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison and owner for all Loan Operations QC BOTs and QC related vendor relationships, ensuring effective oversight, issue resolution, and ongoing performance optimization.
- Identify operational and process gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance-while also evaluating opportunities for automation, workflow enhancements, and technology driven process improvements.
- Prepare and deliver QC reporting, including presentation of trends, exceptions, and emerging risk indicators during the monthly Consumer Portfolio Managers Meeting and other leadership forums.
- Act as the central point of contact for all QC-related inquiries, supporting internal stakeholders and external auditors with documentation, testing, and process insights.
- Partner closely with Compliance, Risk, and business line leadership to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and support enterprise-wide governance objectives.
- Assist in training and educating staff on quality control best practices, regulatory changes, technology updates, and process improvements to strengthen organizational knowledge and reduce error rates.
Requirements:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Five to seven years' experience in Lending or Loan Operations.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
- Applies strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support informed decision making.
- Demonstrate exceptional organization, time management, and follow up abilities, ensuring precise execution, consistent accuracy, and reliable attention to detail.
- Leverages a process improvement mindset to drive continuous operational enhancements.
- Utilizes strong compliance awareness to promote a culture of accountability and regulatory alignment.
Physical Requirements:
- Role requires regular use of computers and digital devices, including extended periods of screen time and document review.
- Position requires the ability to maintain focus and productivity in a dynamic environment with occasional interruptions.
- Responsibilities include handling and moving materials such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Duties require the ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and through digital and phone-based channels, as well as the ability to remain seated for extended periods.
- Position may involve periodic travel for meetings, training, or other business needs.
