Description

Responsible for directing and coordinating activities of ready mix and operations to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
To establish good relationships with current customers, contact potential customers, and create lasting customer relations to continually grow the market for ready mix products.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Five to ten years of experience in progressively responsible positions in the Construction, Ready Mix or Aggregate industries.
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Concrete field & plant certifications.
  • Understanding of the ready-mix production process including mix designs.
  • Management experience.


Duties and/or Responsibilities:



  • Directs and coordinates activities of ready mix and aggregate operations to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
  • Plans and develops organization policies and goals and implements goals through administrative personnel.
  • Coordinates activities of divisions or departments to effect operational efficiency and economy.
  • Directs and coordinates promotion of products or services to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program or operations changes to be implemented.
  • Analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget.
  • Confers with operational and administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel.
  • Reviews status report and prepares project reports.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Meets with customers to satisfy their needs.
  • Builds relationships with new customers and maintains good relationships with existing customers.
  • Product knowledge demonstrated through value added sales, trade shows, customer questions, product quality resolution. Ability to identify best product for customer needs.
  • Prepare quotes/bids for projects.
  • Act as secondary mix designer.
  • Follow through with customer satisfaction on jobs awarded. Monitor product quality during delivery and installation.
    Promotes organization in industry or trade associations.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work well with others during high stress situations.
  • Self-motivated and team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR and all other applicable agencies, safety and environmental regulation compliance. Work with subject matter experts as needed.
  • Complete special projects or other activities assigned by president.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
