Summary
Howard Community College is seeking a dependable and detailoriented Office Assistant to support registration related processes and general clerical needs for the Allied Health and Nursing programs. This entrylevel role helps ensure smooth daily operations by assisting with paperwork, communication, and basic classroom or lab preparation tasks.
Essential Role Responsibilities


  • Review and manage the program inbox by monitoring incoming messages, routing inquiries, and supporting timely responses.

  • Support the Allied Health staffing during lunch rotations.

  • Provide frontline support by answering questions, directing students, and assisting with forms.

  • Support the registration processes by assisting with application tracking, document collection, and communication with prospective students.

  • Perform clerical tasks including filing, copying, scanning, data entry, and organizing program materials.

  • Maintain supply inventory and help restock or organize items.

  • Prepare classrooms and labs by setting out materials or supplies as directed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations.


Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate clearly with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Comfort working in office, classroom, and lab environments.

Minimum Education Required High School or equivalent
Experience Required
Preferred Experience

  • Experience in an educational or office setting.
  • Familiarity with registration processes or student services.


Schedule


  • Parttime, up to 20 hours per week.
  • Hours may vary based on program needs.
