DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role of the Assistant Regional Director involves overseeing and guiding the regional staff in the execution of all program-related responsibilities within the region. This includes managing the duties of other Deputates, particularly when the Regional Director is unavailable or has delegated authority. The Assistant Regional Director is expected to possess an in-depth understanding of all departmental program functions and their interconnections. This knowledge enables them to identify and propose effective solutions to any regulatory conflicts that may arise, ensuring that these solutions align with the overarching mission of the Department. Through their leadership, the Assistant Regional Director plays a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and fostering collaboration among various program areas.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as an Environmental Group Manager (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Seven years of professional environmental protection experience that includes two years of technical supervisory experience and a bachelor's degree in the biological, physical or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental protection that includes two years of technical supervisory experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
