Summary: As Application Analyst II, you will be reporting to IT Manager - WMS IT Manager. The Application Analyst II is an IT application expert and business resource who will analyze, configure, implement, maintain, and support all software solutions throughout the organization to minimize service disruption and facilitate operations. Best practices shall be utilized to implement new business applications, analyze end-user requirements, and test and integrate applications within agreed-upon IT service levels. This position serves as a member of the Wagner Logistics IT team and shall uphold and comply with the company's policies, standards, and attitudes, and shall follow the guiding principles of Best Practices, leveraging process improvement and fostering cultural change where appropriate.

What You'll Be Doing:



  • Assist with help desk functions and application support, handling escalating issues, answering calls, and resolving various technical issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with various enterprise applications and resolve issues.
  • Ensure stability and integrity of production system applications.
  • Coordinate with operations personnel to plan application system upgrades, install new releases and patches, migrate to new systems, and test software for end-users.
  • Stay regularly in the loop with department managers, directors, and end-users regarding projects and application issues, and provide resolutions to troubleshooting issues.
  • Create technical support documentation and keep it up to date.
  • Develop end-user training, then schedule and execute it.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to continually strive for data integrity in all applications, processes, documentation, and standards.
  • Monitor vendor sites regularly and stay up to date on new industry trends by attending vendor conferences and meetings.
  • Identify the features, advantages, and disadvantages of various software applications.
  • Act as a project manager for small/medium-sized projects or tasks.
  • Support the creation and implementation of a quality assurance strategy, approach, and detailed plan. Assist with managing acceptance criteria and identifying defects, and work with the team toward resolution.
  • Other projects or tasks as assigned by management.


What You Need:

A. Education: Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

B. Experience: Proficient level of experience with or knowledge of a wide range of enterprise applications. The preferred candidate will have experience in warehouse management software (WMS).

C. Knowledge/Experience/Skills:



  • Experience with any of the following specific applications is a plus.


    • Ramp WMS Systems, Zethcon Synapse, or other WMS solutions


  • Ability to demonstrate competent IT literacy around applications and systems.
  • Understand the principles of application systems development and how to use them to analyze, test, implement, maintain, and document IT projects.
  • Experience querying and working with relational databases (SQL Server).
  • Understand the data warehouse and its relationship with transactional data, as well as the importance of data integrity.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and training end users.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to break down a problem, recognize the root cause of the problem, and identify how technology can resolve the problem.
  • Specialist knowledge of technical applications and a good understanding of operating systems, computers, and applications software.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple small/medium-sized projects or tasks and implement them in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Advanced technical knowledge that ensures the level of confidence to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with end users - external and internal.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Availability for occasional travel to attend training, assist with start-ups, etc.
