Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (
UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education.
UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school.
Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016,
UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition,
UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year. |

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Training and Consultation Specialist in the
COPSA - National Call Center of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The Training and Consultation Specialist provides training and consultation services, curriculum development, and technical assistance consistent with departmental goals and objectives.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides training and consultation services, curriculum development and technical assistance in assigned project areas.
- Develops, delivers and monitors training programs and activities for Care2Cargivers/COPSA.
- Effectively and appropriately initiates a process of consultation, needs assessment and systems analysis to identify goals and objectives for trainings.
- Assesses the training and curriculum development needs of various constituents and actively shares knowledge with program staff, as indicated by feedback and supervisory observation.
- Utilizes tools and instruments for evaluation

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in Education, Mental Health, Social Sciences, or related discipline plus two (2) years of experience in consultation and/or training.
- At least one (1) year of experience in each of the following: training mental health professionals, providing technical assistance, and curriculum development required.
- Experience providing training and support for older adults, individuals with memory disorders, family and professional caregivers.
- Experience with Alzheimer's Disease and related disorders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Commute to training sites throughout the state.
- Frequent, prolonged sitting.
- Frequent, prolonged standing, frequent walking, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds in order to move training equipment, transport training literature and set up training rooms.
- Speaking/Lecturing for long periods of time.
- This position requires the employee to be able to talk or hear over 2/3 of the time.
- Use hands, arms and fingers over 2/3 of the time.
- Under 1/3 of the time climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is in an office, classroom or auditorium environment.
- Generally pleasant working conditions in a clean, well-lighted quiet to moderately loud settings.
