The Opportunity:

Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB) Service Professionals participate in activities related to

academic admissions, registration, financial aid services, and orientation for current and potential

university students. Student Financial Assistance Professionals evaluate student eligibility for Financial Aid and advise applicants and parents about the Financial Aid options available to them.

Responsibilities:



  • Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process in person or over the phone/Zoom.

  • Analyzes and evaluates student financial needs.

  • Advises on availability of financial assistance.

  • Participates in outreach activities and presentations to students, parents, high school counselors, and the community in workshops and training sessions.

  • Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions for professional development and to keep abreast of current rules and regulations.

  • Reviews and evaluates eligibility Federal Student Aid.

  • Responsible for Verification of student files selected for review by the Department of Education.

  • Evaluates documentation provided by student required to complete additional review of their FAFSA application.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.

  • Working knowledge of financial aid program requirements and related procedures.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Demonstrated experience in administrative or student-facing roles within higher education or comparable environments.

  • Proven ability to provide guidance and advise students on financial processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft for data entry, data organization, and reporting.




Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17.64 - $19.16 per hour. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
