Position Summary

The Technical Sales Specialist plays a key role in supporting commercial growth by delivering high-quality technical demonstrations, customer training, and sales enablement activities across North America and LATAM. This role acts as a technical resource for regional sales leaders and distributor teams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to successfully represent Rigaku's solutions.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of technology and customer engagement, providing clear technical communication, hands-on support, and insights that improve win rates and ensure strong post-sale adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Enablement & Pre-Sales Support

  • Lead live and virtual technical demonstrations of instrumentation and solutions for prospective customers and channel partners.
  • Support sales calls and presentations with technical clarification, workflow explanations, and application insights.
  • Conduct technical briefings, stakeholder workshops, and product overviews to help sales teams effectively position solutions.
  • Lead and participate in roadshows, webinars, training sessions, and customer events in support of commercial initiatives.

Customer Training & Technical Education

  • Deliver onboarding, installation support, and hands-on customer training to ensure smooth adoption and optimal use of equipment.
  • Develop and present technical content-including presentations, training modules, and best-practice materials-to support product understanding.
  • Gather feedback from the field on product performance, user experience, and enhancement needs, funneling insights to Product, R&D, and Applications teams.

Distributor & Regional Support

  • Provide technical guidance and enablement for distributor partners across North America and LATAM.
  • Participate in joint customer engagements alongside regional sales managers and channel partners.
  • Support Spanish-speaking regions as needed with presentations, demonstrations, training, and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Applications, Product Management, Field Trainers, and Service teams to maintain consistency in messaging, training, and customer experience.
  • Coordinate technical handoffs between demo, trial, purchase, training and deployment phases.
  • Assist in the creation and refinement of technical assets that support the broader commercial organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on experience with analytical or scientific instrumentation, field-based detection tools, or related technologies.
  • Ability to perform live instrument demonstrations and troubleshooting in a variety of environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written); Portuguese is a plus.
  • Comfortable translating complex technical concepts into accessible customer benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales support, field applications, product training, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, technical evaluations, and supporting sales cycles.
  • Project coordination experience (e.g., PMP or equivalent) is beneficial but not required.
