Job Summary The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting South Mountain Community College's welcoming, high-performing campus community. As part of a small but mighty HR team, this position contributes to meaningful work that directly supports our students, employees, and the mission of SMCC. In this role, you will perform professional-level HR work with a primary focus on part-time hiring, HR records management, HRIS data accuracy, and employment transaction support. You will coordinate recruitment and onboarding for part-time, adjunct, temporary, and student employees, and may also conduct full-time faculty or staff recruitments during periods of increased hiring activity. We are seeking a critical thinker who excels in problem-solving, communicates with accuracy and timeliness, and builds positive, professional relationships across the campus. Essential Functions Part-Time, Temporary, and Student Hiring (40%) Coordinates and processes recruitments for adjunct, part-time, temporary, and student workers.
Full-Time Recruitment Support (10%) Conducts full-time faculty and staff recruitments when workload requires delegation from the HR Generalist Senior.
HR Recordkeeping, Documentation, and Compliance (15%) Ensures accuracy, completeness, and retention of HR files and personnel records according to District policies.
HRIS Data Support, System Cleanup, and Position Attribute Alignment (15%)
HR Data Reporting and Analytics (10%)
HR Operations, Customer Service, and Generalist Support (10%)
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field and two (2) full-time equivalent years of work experience in one or more areas of human resources, including talent acquisition/recruitment. OR Associate's from a regionally accredited institution in a related field and four (4) full-time equivalent years of work experience in one or more areas of human resources, including talent acquisition/recruitment. OR High School Diploma or G.E.D. and six (6) full-time equivalent years of work experience in one or more areas of human resources, including talent acquisition/recruitment. Desired Qualifications
Special Working Conditions Standard office environment requiring extended periods of computer work, managing deadlines, and handling confidential information. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required during peak hiring periods. Occasional travel to other MCCCD sites.
