Introduction

The Department of Finance & Procurement is responsible for ensuring that the county's financial management and accounting systems are maintained appropriately and that county agencies and the public receive information in a timely manner.


Job Summary

The Department is seeking a full-time, permanent Administrative Assistant III to perform complex administrative, customer service, project and special program support work. This position will provide specialized administrative support in areas such as purchasing, and accounts payable functions for the department. This administrative support work will encompass a wide range of duties in the areas of accounting, budget tracking, purchasing, ordering supplies, fulfilling maintenance requests, filing, and scheduling.

The successful candidate:

  • Will need to exhibit strong time management skills,
  • Demonstrate proficient problem-solving, typing, and proofreading capabilities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of office operations practice and protocol.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting principles and computer applications
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Maintain effective relationships with employees, other departments/agencies, vendors, County and/or Court officials, and the public.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists with purchasing activities
  • Coordinates meetings
  • Orders office supplies and equipment
  • Provides courteous and timely customer service
  • Provide backup coverage to front counter
  • Administers procurement cards
  • Coordinates storage and records retrieval
  • Enters, updates and retrieves information from databases, files and systems for the department
  • Reconciles receipts and enters receivable and payable information for the department

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule in accordance with the County's telework policy.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud experience is a plus.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required and obtain a Notary Public certificate within 30 days of hire.
