Maintenance Electrician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Maintenance Electricianinstalls and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties. Also plans and designs electrical installation of systems and provides direction or instruction to fellow team members accordingly on projects. Generates purchase order requisitions.

Responsibilities :

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such asGranulators,Flat Die/Blown Film lines, andconveyors.

• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors,PLC's, Heaters, sensors, variouscontrollersandlighting fixtures.

• Tests malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction/repairwith other workers, such as MaintenanceLead, Production Operator/Tech, or Supervisors.

• Replaces faulty electrical components ofmachinesuch as relays, switches,PLC modules,motors, andvarious electronic sensors.

• Diagnoses andrepairor replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

• Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.

• Usesvarious controls, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such asheat controls,VFDs/Motorstooperateautomated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.

• Plans layout of wiring andinstallswiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

• Employeemust be willing to be placed in an on-call rotation to support plant operations.

• Employeemust be willing to take phone calls to help resolve electrical issues.

• Employeemust be willing to help trainapprenticeas well as cross train Maintenance Team.

Qualifications:

RequiredEducation &Skillsets:

• Licensed Journeyman Electrician

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees oforganization.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, or diagram form.

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Knowledge of Manufacturing software, Outlook, Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands:

• Be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds

• Perform repetitive tasks

• Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk

• Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch,twistand balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces

• Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
