Shift:Work various 12 hour shifts that can and could include weekends and/or holidays - NIGHTS
Department: Children's Transport Services
Compensation:

* Base Pay Range: $34.38 - $52.08 per hour, based on experience

* Special Pay: Additional $8.00 per hour until 2/28/26

* Shift Differentials:

o Additional $2.00 per hour for evening shifts

o Additional $4.00 per hour for night shifts

o Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shifts

o Additional $5.00 per hour for weekend evening shifts

o Additional $7.00 per hour for weekend night shifts

* Choose Between Sign-On Bonus -OR- Retention Rewards

o Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

o Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000

* Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away

* Student Loan Repayment: $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000

* Enhanced Retention: $5,000 after 6 months, $3,000 after 12 months, and finally $2,000 after 24 months.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

* Provide evaluation, stabilization, coordination, and delivery of medical care to patients during transport.

* Work independently to administer services via approved protocols and guidelines.

* Provide advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation.

* Perform endotracheal intubation, needle decompression, umbilical catheter placement, IO Catheter placement & point of care testing. Assist nursing with procedures.

* Assure medical equipment is accounted for, properly functioning, and securely stowed.

* Familiar with use of all equipment and supplies, to include medications.

* Ensure additional medical equipment and supplies are available for the specific needs of the patient condition and needs, based on available patient report and distance of transport.

* Communicate condition, acuity and any unusual issues with transport team and medical control.

* Communicate with patient/family condition of patient, pertinent disease information, and expectations during transport.

* Assist with workflow by maintaining collaborative communication with referral facility team.

* Attend all required safety training programs, education, and meetings.

* Participate in outreach visits and education at referring facilities. Provide respiratory therapy in-patient activities as needed including the following: collection and analysis of blood gas samples, oxygen therapy and specialty medical gas administration, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, inhaled medication administration, airway clearance techniques, airway maintenance, and attend routine or high-risk deliveries.

* Act as a member of the Code Blue, Rapid Response Team, and Trauma Response Team.

* Provide patient documentation through the electronic medical record.

* Follow infection control and safety standards.

* Educate and advise patients' families on respiratory therapy procedures. Provide education to students and other health care providers. Serve as a preceptor for new employees and respiratory care students.

* May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) or (RCP-T) licensure by the Missouri Respiratory Care board.

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

  • One (1) year of pediatric or neonatal critical care experience.

  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or Neonatal Pediatric Transport (NPT) certification by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) within two (2) years as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 100 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs or more. The employee must not exceed a flight weight of 230lbs including flight gear.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
