Program Coordinator - School of Dentistry

This position supports the Healthy Smiles program by acting as the primary liaison with elementary school administrators, teachers, school nurses, school social workers, and supporting community members. Responsibilities include scheduling and running meetings with school members, delivering and picking up patient consent forms, verifying accuracy and completion of patient consent forms, contacting parents/guardians as needed, accompanying students between their classrooms and dental treatment room, promoting consent return rates by implementing teacher/school incentives, calculating consent return rates by classroom teacher, and delivering nurse's reports to individual schools after data is collected and prepared.
Healthy Smiles is a school-based dental sealant program that brings dental students directly into the school setting, transforming classrooms into temporary dental clinics.

  • Coordinates Healthy Smiles activities.
  • Act as primary coordinator or assist in coordinating program activities.
  • Develop and maintain community relationships, communicate with community partners and members.
  • Assist in grant tracking activities.
  • Assist in coordinating equipment transportation with the contracted moving company.
This is a 32 hour/week; 12 month; Benefit Eligible position
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • 2-4 years' work experience in health disparities arena preferred.
  • 2-4 years' work experience in elementary schools or pediatric settings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus particularly with the minority community and ability to resolve conflict and handle demanding clients.
  • Ability to think independently and analyze problems and reach solutions.
