Cytotechnologist

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Cytotechnologist to join the team! This role will be Full time, Mon-Friday, Hours: Day Shift.

Job Responsibilities

• Correctly evaluate cellular samples and deliver accurate cytologic diagnoses
• Identify and document unacceptable specimens and coordinate with healthcare providers for timely recollection
• Maintain efficient department operations by adhering to technical and scientific standards
• Monitor quality control and instrumentation and take corrective action as needed
• Support the expansion of FNA services and contribute to workflow improvements in a growing department
• Maintain supply inventory
• Participate in department initiatives and projects to improve efficiency, quality, and patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: Associate Degree with at least 12 semester hours in science, eight of which are biology
• Years of Experience: No experience required.
• Certification: Cytotechnologist registry with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
