We are seeking a visionary Color Designer 3 to bring their expertise to a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be at the forefront of color innovation, transforming concepts into tangible, market-ready designs. This is a 5-month hybrid engagement in Beaverton, OR. You will play a critical part in the product lifecycle, from initial concept to final execution, ensuring that color not only meets aesthetic standards but also resonates deeply with consumers and market trends. - Lead Color Design Execution:
- Plan and execute sophisticated color designs, collaborating closely with design, product marketing, development, and material consultants to achieve market success.
- Ensure Marketable Solutions
- Review all samples meticulously, communicating necessary changes for final confirmation to ensure every product is retail-ready and impactful.
- Drive Color Strategy:
- Develop and implement innovative, retailable color solutions for specific product categories, leveraging in-depth research into color, design, market, and lifestyle trends.
- Manage Design Timelines:
- Maintain color calendars, timelines, and deadlines, ensuring the timely completion of each product and coordinating materials effectively.
- Shape Seasonal Direction:
- Propose and lead seasonal color strategies for product lines and initiatives, creating category-specific direction for color, materials, and graphics.
- Champion Consumer Insights
- Utilize a deep understanding of consumer behavior, brand positioning, and competitor products to apply insights directly into compelling color solutions.
- Influence Through Presentation:
- Present and communicate category-specific color and merchandising directions to relevant groups, producing high-quality presentation materials.
- Foster Skill Development:** Continuously develop excellence as a color designer, bringing advanced functional expertise (e.g., materials, special effects, technology) to the design organization and mentoring junior designers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant work experience.
- Alternatively, a PhD or Law degree with 3 years of experience
- a Master's degree with 4 years of experience,
- an Associate's degree with 6 years of experience, or a High School diploma with 7 years of experience.
- Proven ability to plan and execute complex color designs from concept to completion.
- Strong collaborative skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, development, and material specialists.
- Demonstrated expertise in researching and applying market, design, and lifestyle trends to product color strategies.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating color direction and merchandising strategies to diverse audiences.
- A deep understanding of consumer behavior and brand positioning within product categories.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail in reviewing samples and finalizing product specifics.
